FAQ

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF A DOME?

Every Geodesic Dome is supplied as a complete turnkey installation. Depending on the model you choose, this includes the dome structure, glazing, foundations, delivery and installation by our experienced in-house team. Any optional extras will be clearly detailed in your quotation so you know exactly what is included before you order.

WHAT MAKES YOUR DOMES DIFFERENT FROM CHEAPER IMPORTED DOMES?

Our domes are designed, handcrafted and installed in Ireland using premium thermally modified hardwood timber, powder-coated aluminium components and high-quality glazing. They are built specifically for the Irish climate and are installed by our own experienced team rather than supplied as a flat-pack kit. We focus on craftsmanship, longevity and customer service rather than simply offering the lowest price.

DO I NEED PLANNING PERMISSION FOR A GARDEN DOME?

In many cases, a garden dome can be installed without planning permission, depending on its size, location and intended use. Planning regulations vary throughout Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK, so we always recommend checking with your local planning authority. If planning permission is required, we can provide drawings and technical information to support your application.

HOW DO YOUR DOMES PERFORM IN HIGH WINDS?

Despite their elegant appearance, Geodesic Domes are one of the strongest and most structurally efficient building forms ever developed. Their triangular geometry distributes wind loads evenly throughout the structure, making them exceptionally stable and well suited to exposed and coastal locations. Every Geodesic Dome is designed for the Irish climate and is handcrafted using premium thermally modified hardwood timber, 6 mm toughened safety glass, an inward-opening entrance door with a secure three-point locking system, and powder-coated aluminium windows fitted with screwjack opening mechanisms that remain securely closed during severe weather. Whether installed in a private garden, a school or a commercial setting, our domes are engineered to provide outstanding strength, durability and year-round weather resistance.

HOW DO YOUR DOMES PERFORM IN HIGH WINDS?

Despite their lightweight appearance, Geodesic Domes are one of the strongest and most wind-resistant structural forms ever developed. Their triangular geometry distributes wind loads evenly throughout the structure rather than concentrating stress in one area, making them exceptionally stable in exposed locations. Our domes are engineered specifically for the Irish climate and feature a premium thermally modified hardwood frame, 6 mm toughened safety glass, an inward-opening entrance door with a secure three-point locking system, and powder-coated aluminium windows fitted with screwjack opening mechanisms that remain securely closed during severe weather. Whether installed in a private garden, a school or an exposed rural location, our domes are designed to provide outstanding strength, durability and year-round weather resistance.

WHAT IS THE GLAZING USED ON THE DOME?

The GROW Dome is glazed in a 4mm UV Stable polycarbonate which is 200 time stronger than glass. If you would like an insulated growing space then the dome can be provided with a multi wall polycarbonate glazing which will allow for a thermal break in the dome providing an ideal solution for year round growing opportunities.

DO YOU BUILD ANY OTHER SIZE GEODESIC DOMES?

We can design and build domes from a 3 meter diameter dome which is about 2.4m tall and gives you 7m² of floor space up to a 10 meter diameter dome which is about 3.6m tall and gives you 78m² of floor space. Other sizes to suit your specific requirements are available upon request.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BUILD AND INSTALL A DOME?

Lead times vary throughout the year depending on demand and the specification of your dome. Once your order is confirmed, we will provide an estimated production and installation schedule. Most installations are completed within a few days including the foundations.

DO YOU BUILD DOMES FOR SCHOOLS OR BUSINESSES?

Yes. In addition to private gardens, our domes are widely used as outdoor classrooms, meeting spaces, staff rooms, visitor centres and hospitality spaces. We have successfully completed projects for schools, businesses and public organisations throughout Ireland.

HOW ARE THE DOMES INSTALLED?

Every dome is manufactured in Ireland before being transported to site in sections for assembly. Installation is carried out exclusively by our own experienced team, allowing us to complete projects efficiently while maintaining our high standards of quality. Our modular construction also allows installation in locations where access is limited and without the need for any heavy machinery or equipment.

CAN I VISIT A DOME BEFORE BUYING?

es. We are often able to arrange visits to completed installations or invite you to view one of our demonstration domes by appointment. Seeing a dome in person is an excellent way to appreciate the quality of the materials, craftsmanship and space before making your decision.

WHERE DO YOU DELIVER?

We deliver and install domes throughout Ireland. Projects in Northern Ireland, the United Kingdom and selected European locations may also be accommodated by arrangement. Please contact us to discuss your location and project.
