Powerstown Educate Together National School

Powerstown Educate Together National School already knew the value of a geodesic dome as an outdoor learning space. Their existing polycarbonate dome was extremely well used, but over time problems with leaks, damaged panels and condensation meant it was no longer providing the comfortable, weatherproof space the school needed.
Having seen one of our Cosmos Outdoor Classrooms at a neighbouring school, Powerstown Educate Together decided to replace their existing dome with a new 7m Cosmos.
The new outdoor classroom features our Solar Comfort Glass package, using solar-control glazing to help reduce solar heat gain while retaining the bright, open character of a fully glazed dome. The 7m structure provides approximately 38m² of usable floor area, creating a generous year-round learning environment for the school.
The project also incorporated raised timber planters around the dome, helping integrate the new classroom into the school grounds and creating additional opportunities for planting and outdoor learning.
The result is a robust, permanent outdoor classroom that builds on something the school already knew worked exceptionally well for its pupils — but with the durability, weather protection and comfort required for long-term, year-round use.
